Hysteresis/Swing Band

Why do all conversations about this end up being closed with no resolution?

Google / Nest use your brains and fix this issue.

The update should change the default Hysteresis to 0.5F and make it USER ADJUSTABLE.

If you can't then explain why? It's just not good enough for such an expensive product.

Hello angyp,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry.

I'm sorry if the threads are being locked prematurely, and I understand that this has been a topic for quite some time. With this, there may be a small temperature swing because Nest Thermostats will wait to turn on the system until it gets about 1 degree Fahrenheit (0.5 degree Celsius) warmer/cooler than the temperature you've set. This is to prevent unnecessary wear on your system and help save energy.

Please share your insight with our product team through feedback and let us know if you have more questions or other concerns.

Regards,
Mark

Thanks, I understand how it currently works and how Hysteresis work. What I and many of the community are asking for is an adjustable swing value down to .5 Fahrenheit. I understand that the current setup prevents unnecessary wear on your system and helps save energy but when the wife asks me if the heater is on once more when it is I will lose my mind.
Please be transparent and tell us why it's not possible for this to be adjustable.
