Hello Philip,

Apologies for the delay in response, but welcome to our community! We appreciate that you're considering Nest for your home. Let's see what's going on here.

If you have both an Rc and Rh wire, you have both a heating and cooling system, but have different power sources per wire. This likely means that you have a dual-fuel HVAC system.

I would suggest contacting a pro to come out to help you with this since dual transformers can be notoriously tricky with their wiring setup.

Another note: Don't connect any Jumper wires to the Nest thermostat. They're designed to be used without them, and messing with them can mean damage to your HVAC system/thermostat.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any further questions for us.
