Hi, I just bought the non-smart Nest Thermostat. I only get the option to set a schedule for the fan to run for 12 hours. When I Google directions to run the fan alone 24/7 it shows me directions for the Smart Thermostat only, not the cheaper Thermostat that I purchased. Does that mean the cheaper Nest Thermostat cannot run 24/7 ever, just up to the 12 hours I can schedule it for? Very disappointed so far. Ed

The Google Nest Thermostat is a bare-bones basic thermostat and it is designed to only have a limited number of features. If you want to have full control you need to use a 3rd Gen or the E version.

Thank you Patrick, I appreciate your feedback. That is so disappointing that Google would only offer that functionality on the more expensive model. It's software, it doesn't even require additional hardware to justify the additional cost. They are making me upgrade to a more expensive model to run my fan 24/7. This is another reason to lose faith in Google. The fact that it's not even documented online anywhere so that I could have discovered that before I purchased the cheaper model is another disappointing fact. At least I would have known my limited options with the cheaper model. So disappointed! Ed
