Hi Patrick, I basically followed the orientation of the original Totaline PV110 Thermostat that was there.

Do you know if the wiring going between the Nest and the HVAC has more wires available or just those five?
Also, which model Nest do you have?
@Patrick_Caezza He's asking if the existing Nest is compatible with the New Goodman. The previous thermostat would be irrelevant.

The existing wiring has only 5 wires.
I have a 2nd generation Nest.

FWIW, the Nest is not compatible with Goodman's "ComfortBridge Communications System" if that's what you are asking about. However, it should work fine with the Goodman system from the perspective of acting like a traditional thermostat would.
Note: You have left out details about how that A/C unit is going to be integrated into your complete system. The GVXC20 is literally just the A/C compressor unit of a split system, so we would need more details about the other parts. Are they also Goodman?
The Goodman "ComfortBridge Communications System" is pretty nifty (works over Bluetooth and WiFi), so assuming the entire new system is Goodman, then the next question would be do you like your Nest and thus want to keep it over using the Goodman controls?

The entire system, furnace & AC, being proposed is by Goodman.
The installer is currently pairing this unit with a Honeywell Lyric T6 Pro Thermostat. Checking this unit on Honeywell's own website, customers seem very unhappy & only give it 2 stars! So I'm not anxious to have anything so seemingly unloved & unreliable.

From what I have read, the Honeywell doesn't support the ComfortBridge so you should be fine

I thought the Nest had Bluetooth & WiFi, but you say it's not compatible with Goodman's "ComfortBridge Communications System?" I'm confused.
Thanks for asking about the furnace, I need to ask for more specifics. All that was indicated on the proposal is a Goodman AFUE 80%.
I called Goodman tech support and they told me their thermostat offerings are made by Honeywell. He therefore recommended Honeywell or White Rodgers, but also indicated the Nest should work...further confusion.

The Nest does use WiFi to connect to a WiFi router in order for it to connect to the Google Home/Nest servers. It does not connect to any other local device via WiFi nor does any application within your home connect directly to the Nest thermostat. Instead, the Google Home application then also connects to the Google Home/Nest servers via WiFi (or a cellular data service) and that is then how it communicates with the Nest devices. Also, the Google Nest Thermostat does not have any Bluetooth capabilities, that is typically found in devices like the Nest Home Speaker or MAX where it will play music or connect to your phone for calls.
The Goodman's "ComfortBridge Communications System" uses WiFi integrated into the HVAC/furnace system and then connects to their own ComfortBridge servers and basically monitors how your system is running. You can then integrate any thermostat as you would without the ComfortBridge system. I had thought they were selling their own more closely integrated smart thermostat which would then be able to give more information from the system. But, I am not seeing any such offering (just as you noted, that they offer Honeywell or White Rodgers thermostats).
