Inquiring about compatibility with Trane furnace wiring

I want to confirm that the 4th gen Nest thermostat is compatible with my Trane furnace installation/wiring.

Trane Furnace model:  S9V2B060U3PSBAA

Trane thermostat model: TCONT824A

Wiring:  I would like to upload an image of the wiring on the thermostat, but this forum is not allowing me to do that.

Trane Wire: Thermostat Terminal

Brown: W2 (stage 2 heat)

White: W1 (stage 1 heat)

Green: G (fan)

Blue: B / C (24volt common)

Red: RC (24volt power)

RH terminal is connected to the B / C terminal

Looking at pages 22,23,24 on the pro install manual, seems it's compatible.

Hi

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I understand you want to know if your Trane furnace wiring is compatible with your Nest Thermostat 4th gen. I'm happy to assist you right now.

Based on the wiring information you provided me, it seems your Trane furnace is compatible with the Nest Thermostat 4th Gen. I recommend the wiring below:

  • Brown: W2 (stage 2 heat)
  • White: W1 (stage 1 heat)
  • Green: G (fan)
  • Blue: C (24-volt common)
  • Red: RC (24-volt power)

Nest Thermostat for power needs one wire connected to the C wire and RH or RC; it is not necessary to have both to make the thermostat work.

Feel free to keep us posted if you have more questions.

Regards,

Gabriela
