Installed the power connector, but the fan is still not running independently

The cable to the Nest thermostat has only 4 wires and there is no C wire. I bought the Google power connector. and the thermostat connected to the power connector and test looks OK. I tried to run fan only with cooling and heating off, but it doesn't work. It always starts the cooling system when I try to run the fan only.

I understand the the fan cannot be run independently without C wire, and the power connector is supposed to to fix this, and so it enable you to control fan. Can anyone help, thanks a lot!

Hi @cht001,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand you're having trouble getting your fan to run independently on your Nest Thermostat, even after installing a Google Power Connector. Let me help you with this!

To troubleshoot this, please provide a few more details:

  • What specific model of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  • Can you describe your wiring configuration at the thermostat, listing which wires are connected to which terminals?
  • Are you attempting to turn on the fan independently through the app or directly on the thermostat, or both?
  • Is this a new installation of the Nest Thermostat, or has it been working previously and this issue just started?

Once I have this information, I'll be happy to provide further assistance.

Best regards,

Debora

Sorry for the delayed response.

How did you connect the Power Connector? Can you post a picture(s) showing how?
