I have an American Standard HVAC unit and an old digital thermostat. The unit has gas for the heating (if that matters). The self install instructions looks fairly simple, but since there is a jumber between Rc and Rh, and from some postings on the web, I wanted to be sure before I remove the old thermostat, that the new one will works as a swapout without additional parts (like additional power wiring). I have the American Standard serial numbers (3 showed up when I did a warranty check). I don't have any additional specialty parts, like dehumidifiers, no dual fuel options. The only wiring is G, Rc, Y, W, Rh (I don't see a way to post the picture in this link...??)

Hi jfreedkin
Don't worry, I'm here to help! Here's a tool you can use to check your thermostat's compatibility. This particular thermostat model doesn't require a jumper wire in the configuration. You'll just need to connect the wires according to the instructions. I'm confident this information will help you set up your thermostat successfully.
