Issue with thermostat says heating but is not & fan is running and won’t shut off

We have the nest thermostat that we installed. The unit says it’s heating but is not and the fan is constantly running and won’t shut off.  Also it says we have electric heat with a heat pump for auxiliary heating but we have gas forced air. 
Need assistance if there is a solution.

We had a similar issue and fixed it by removing the thermostat off of the wall and charging it for about an hour

Not sure how you charge the thermostat; it only has batteries (non chargeable). I still have the question of why the system set up won’t let us pick gas heat /forced air. It is greyed out and set us to electric heat with a heat pump- which we don’t have.

Tonight the thermostat was set at 68 deg, it was 67 in the house. The thermostat said it was heating but only the fan was running constantly. Never heated or got to 68 deg. Need to know what is wrong
