Issues no power rc (e73) then c (e79).

I installed nest learning thermostat and received a e73 error no power to rc wire. Checked fuse at a/c unit. Unit does not have a condensate switch. Filter is new. Have approximately 28vac between c and rc. I snipped all wires and reattached to nest. Now I have e79 error no power to c wire. I still have 28 vac between c and rc. Any thoughts? I wouldn't think the connections would be so touchy.

Hey GTLong,

Thanks for posting and I'm sorry to hear that you're running into this roadblock installing your Nest thermostat. I want to dig deeper into it.

Quick question — what type of Nest thermostat and HVAC system are you setting up? Also, could you share a clear photo of your original thermostat wires showing the labels of it's terminals?

Best,
