We just switched our old thermostat to a nest thermostat thinking this would be better. I had to use one of the Nest support people to figure out where to put the wires and I did everything the way they suggested. The temperature outside has gone below 30 and so the nest thermostat seems to think that we have a dual fuel system and has set the gas part of our furnace or alt two heating. The challenge is it’s an electrical heat pump and so they basically turned off the heat and we woke up to the house being at 58.

Hey Ssoconnor,

Oh no! I'm sorry for the delay and trouble. Let's check — what type of Nest thermostat do you have? How is your Nest Thermostat wired? Could you send us a photo of your wiring diagram so we can take a closer look? Also, what country are you located in?

Thanks,
Archie

Hi everyone,

Just one quick final check in here since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, I would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let me know.

Thanks,
