Hi equivokate, I did. It says they need more information and seems to be inconclusive.

Sorry I can't offer any expert advice. I used that site and it told me Nest Gen 1 was compatible with my system but it doesn't appear to be (which is why I'm on here at the moment). I suspect I'm going to have to call in an HVAC guy because I'm not getting a response here yet. Hopefully someone with more expertise can help you tho--good luck!

You can chat with support. That was sort of helpful!

Hello folks,

I'm sorry for the late reply, and I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here.

I appreciate your input, @equivokate. Please check my response to your thread and reply if you need more help.

@WestportCt, thanks for reaching out. Determining compatibility for Nest Thermostats can be crucial for ensuring smooth installation and operation. Based on the wires you've listed, it seems like you have a typical setup for a heat pump system, which is a common configuration. The Nest Thermostat is generally compatible with most systems, including heat pump setups.

Here's a breakdown:

  • Orange wire > O/B terminal
  • Blue wire > C terminal
  • White wire > W/W1 terminal
  • Red wire > R/Rh/Rc terminal
  • Green wire > G terminal
  • Yellow wire > Y/Y1 terminal

Let me know if you have more questions.

Best regards,
Mark
