Lost power need help!

Hi, looking for help. We have a Nest and in the middle of the day, we just lost power. We removed from the wall, changed the batteries, connected to Wifi and still can't connect. It's starting to get extremely hot, because our AC won't cut on without it. Any ideas? Suggestions?

Hi Klauche,

Thanks for posting here in the community forum. I’m sorry to know that your Nest thermostat is shutting down the system. Don't worry, I’m happy to help you.

To effectively troubleshoot, could you please answer these questions?

  • What model of thermostat do you have? If you don’t know what model you are using, check out this article: How to tell which Nest thermostat you have
  • When did the trouble first occur?
  • How long did you charge up this thermostat?

In the meantime, try to perform these steps.

  • Ensure the thermostat is receiving adequate power.
  • Check Wiring: inspect the wiring between the thermostat and your HVAC system. Loose or damaged wires can cause intermittent power supply.

If you have any more information that could be helpful, please let me know.

Best regards,

Daniel
