M15 error new 3rd gen thermostat

Smokeyburnout

I have a 1st generation doorbell camera and recently got a 3rd gen thermostat. While setting up thermostat it connects to the doorbell cam and then pops up with m15 error. I’ve tried multiple WiFi bands to no avail. They all have different names as I saw that was an issue. I keep getting “your thermostat couldn’t be added to your account. Check the app for more info” and under more info “for help go to nest.com/m15” which just says reset device and add again. I’ve tried at least 6 times now. In the app I get “failed to add nest learning thermostat to your account- this device may be too far from the nest cam. Reconsider either nest learning thermostat or nest cam placement- TD017(3.3)”

Thanks for the reply. As noted I found the issue was the thermostat had to be docked and then moved adjacent to my doorbell. Once I did that everything sync’d up.
