Minimum schedule heat duration change is only 1 hr this is unacceptable

So the other day I wanted to set a schedule to heat my house using my nest thermostat for 30 mins and then shut off and realized this isn't allowed. Worse google closed a same article on this forum. This is completely unacceptable we should be able to alter things down to the min at the very least 15mins not 1 hr which it's now. In 1 hr you can spend a lot if money in burnt fuel that I wouldn't have needed to if I could set it to only run for 30 min or less.  This needs to be fixed and allowed. Maybe I need to start a petition.

I'd also like to set the heating schedule in 15 minute intervals like I can do on the mechanical boiler timer, rather than having a minimum of 1 hour (to be precise I'm wanting to make one timer 45 mins).

This is gas that we're paying for (at very high tariffs) so it's up to us users how long we want it to run for. Small houses heat up quicker than large ones as do well insulated ones.

The Nest packaging/marketing says will help us save money and be more eco yet it's burning more money and and releasing more carbon emissions in the process. Does not seem as smart as my mechanical timer, aside from allowing a variable temperature....

Hi folks,

@Plojm123 and @MrJS, we don't have any news to share right now about access to real-time data or insights into Google's internal decision-making processes. Therefore, I cannot provide specific odds or predictions about whether Google Nest will implement a particular change in their software. However, Google Nest, like many technology companies, regularly updates and improves its software based on various factors such as user feedback, industry trends, and competitive landscape. They often release updates and new features to enhance user experience and address user needs. If you have a specific suggestion or request for a change in Google Nest's software, I encourage you please let our product team know about it by sending feedback.

Thanks,

Zoe
