My Nest Thermostat doesn't show the cooling setting at all. I have heat but there's no AC or snowflake settings showing at all.

Hi @ellie2

Sorry for the long wait,

There are a few reasons why your Nest thermostat might not be showing the cooling setting. Here's how to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Check the Mode:

  • Make sure your Nest thermostat isn't currently in "Heat" or "Eco" mode. In these modes, the cooling option is hidden.
  • Try switching the thermostat to "Cool" mode. The snowflake icon and cooling temperature settings should appear.

2. Verify Wiring:

  • A properly wired Nest thermostat should have a Y (or Y1) wire connected for cooling functionality.
  • If you recently installed the Nest yourself, double-check the wiring against the Nest compatibility guide for your specific thermostat model and HVAC system.
  • Important: Always turn off power to your HVAC system before working on the wiring.

3. Nest App Settings:

  • In some cases, the Nest app settings might hide the cooling functionality.
  • Open the Nest app and navigate to your thermostat settings. Look for options related to "System" or "Heating & Cooling."
  • Ensure "Cool" mode is enabled in the app settings.

4. Nest Compatibility:

  • Not all Nest thermostats support cooling.
  • Check the Nest website or app to confirm your specific model has cooling capabilities.

If for some reason you still have the same issue don't hesitate to let us know.

Regards,

Mario.
