My Nest V3 has a systematic error of about 2.5 degrees Celsius (5 degrees Fahrenheit), how to fix?

Dear community,

Attached is a trace of my Nest V3 as it determines the temperature in my living room for 24 hours (blue line). Next to it I put a Hue motion sensor, which also traces the temperature (purple line). As you can see, the Nest is off by 2.3-2.7 degrees Celsius (about 4.1-4.9 degrees Fahrenheit). I confirmed the Hue to be correct with my previous thermostat.

Is there a way to set an offset instead of having to explain to the people in my house that we now set the thermostat 2.5 degrees Celsius (4.5 degrees Fahrenheit) higher?

I just found this https://support.google.com/googlenest/thread/19492058/nest-temperature-incorrect?hl=en

I'm a bit shocked now to be honest.

I reset the thermostat as advised in that thread and indeed it drops to a lower temp for about a minute, then shoots up again to this very high temperature. The thread seems to indicate there was a software update that started this mess. Is there perhaps a way to downgrade?
