My nest thermostat keeps changing temperature automatically.

I  have disabled all automatic features like home/away, eco, and any others. I even have set several Alexa routines to put the temperature back to 70 degrees but despite every effort, it keeps changing back to 67 or 65 degrees. on the nest and google home apps I have set the temperature to be 70 and set several automations to put it at 70. STILL it changes to 65 or 67 at different times. Nothing is fixing it.

Hello masynbarney,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your frustration regarding the persistent issue with your Nest Thermostat. I appreciate your diligence in disabling automatic features, setting specific temperatures, and creating routines to maintain the desired setting at 70 degrees.

Here are a few steps you can consider to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:

  1. Make sure there are no conflicting routines or schedules set in different apps (Nest, Google Home, and Alexa). Sometimes, multiple automation rules may interfere with each other.
  2. Check the device history in the Nest and Google Home apps. This might provide insights into what triggers the temperature changes and help identify any unexpected patterns or events.
  3. Consider any environmental factors that might be influencing the temperature changes. For instance, if your thermostat is placed in direct sunlight or near a draft, it might be registering incorrect temperatures.
  4. Consider resetting your Nest Thermostat and reconfiguring it from scratch. This can help eliminate any lingering issues or glitches in the device's settings.

Let us know how it goes.

Best regards,
Mark
