My nest thermostat stopped working

My thermostat was functioning just fine, my WiFi went out it’s running again however the thermostat stoped working when I go into the app now it’s saying my thermostat is not compatible with my system at home and it won’t connect to the app anymore what can I do?

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I’m sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat is not connecting with the app and says it is not compatible; don't worry, help is here.

Before we continue, I have some questions for you:

  • What type of thermostat do you have?
  • Are you using the Nest app or the Google Home app?
  • Are you able to see the thermostat in the app? If so, could you confirm if the thermostat is offline?
  • Have you tried to do a factory reset on the Nest Thermostat and remove it from the app and then try to re-add it?
