I believe I have a learning thermostat. I've had it for years and during all that time I've had no trouble communicating with my iPhone Nest app.
Two days ago that changed. When I open the Nest app, it will connect with the thermostat for a split second, then a message appears that reads, "There was a problem connecting to the Nest service. Try again in a few minutes." Under that is a button with the words, "Try Again." Below that is "Sign out." Of course, I've done all that repeatedly without success (except signing out). I've done other suggested approaches, as well.
I've gone through all the troubleshooting on this site that I'm aware of. I've restarted my router. I restarted my thermostat and reconnected it to my WiFi. Everything seems to be up to date. I don't know what else to do.
There was once a time years ago when one could actually talk to a real person which was extremely helpful and quick, but apparently no more. That one time it turned out my thermostat was defective and a new one arrived the next day by overnight delivery.
I wish I could attach a snapshot to this message. It would be so helpful.

Sofware has definitely gotten sketchy and I do see this even when on WIFI, I'm not sure what causes it but its very troublesome... I see it more when I've had it open and going from cell to wifi, but IDK what the cause is... you're not alone unless its apps and updates behind the scenes causing the quirk. No solution yet but sometimes once I get it fixed its fine too for a while.

Hey folks,
I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries, we'll check this out. What is the make and model of your iOS device? What is the iOS version? What is the mobile app version? Also, have you tried another phone see you'll get the same result?
Looking forward to your response.
Thanks,
Archie
