Hi @crossh,

Thanks for reaching out here in the community! I understand that you own three Nest Learning Thermostats (1st and 2nd generation) and you want to get the promotion code to replace them. I'd be happy to help with this!

To obtain the promotion code, you'll receive an email detailing support changes for the Nest Learning Thermostat (1st and 2nd generation), which will contain a personalized link. Consider that all thermostats are correctly set up within the account and the home structures. To provide you accurate information, I'd like to ask the following:

  • For each generation of Nest thermostat, how many do you have?
  • Are all the thermostats set up within the same home structure?
  • Have you checked if you received the email with the offer link?

For more information, see this Google Nest Community thread: Support changes to our earliest generation Nest Learning Thermostats.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer

How can you tell which generation it is? I actually just found a brand new one still in the box, too.

Hi @crossh,

Thanks for following up!

To help you identify the generation of your Nest Learning Thermostats, including the new one in the box, please refer to this article: How to tell which Nest thermostat you have.

Additionally, if you can share the information requested above, it would be helpful to move the case forward.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer

It’s the nest thermostat E. I wasn’t planning on opening the package unless it’s 3rd or 4th generation. Is there any way to tell without opening the package? Like the serial number?

I did receive the email, but it does not give you a coupon code or anything. Just a link to the site. Two are in one home and the third is in another. The third appears to be third generation. O have to check the other two, but I believe they’re newer, however one is the thermostat E

Hi @crossh,

Thanks for your prompt reply!

I appreciate the information provided. Please note that the promotion code only applies to the Nest Learning Thermostat (1st and 2nd generation). Depending on the number of impacted thermostats per home, you’ll receive unique promo links for the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen). The discount is applied once you enter the Google Store through the attached link. For more information, please check this article: Upcoming end of support for Nest Learning Thermostats (1st and 2nd gen).

Regarding the packaged thermostat, you can share a picture of the box here to double-check the model. Please don't share the serial number publicly.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer

Hi @Justdondon,

Thanks for reaching out here in the community! It sounds like you're concerned about whether you received the promo code for your three Nest Thermostats E. I'd be happy to help with this!

Currently, the promo code is designated for Nest Learning Thermostat (1st and 2nd generation) owners. Eligible users will be notified via email with an offer. Users with the Nest Thermostat E will not experience any changes and will continue to receive updates and support. For more information, please refer to the article: Support changes to our earliest generation Nest Learning Thermostats.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Best regards,

Jenniffer

Evidently Gen 3 has been added... won't be updated/supported. Will Gen 3 users be notified as well?

  • That’s news to me. They said it was only one and two. Also the E thermostats are fine. Wish they told me that before I gave a brand new one away. 😡

I just installed Gen 3 and it can't be added to Google Home. Maybe it was having a bad day...I'll try again.
