Is there a way to set up a temperature range, but allow manual on and off?

Hi,

I've been trying to find if there is a way to do this, but I've had no luck. Where I live, the temp varies day by day, so we prefer to turn the air conditioner on and off manually as needed. The problem is there are members of the household that like to turn the temperature below the agreed upon range, so I want to set up a range lock to prevent this from happening. However, it seems that locking the system allows it to be turned on manually, but turning it off can only be done by unlocking the system which would then undo the set range setup, thus defeating the purpose.

Is there any other way to set this up?
