I have had my Nest 3 Learning thermostat positioned in my living room for several years and it has had no trouble connecting to the heatlink in the kitchen next to the boiler. Recently it has been disconnecting and I have had to move the thermostat into the kitchen to re-establish the connection. If I then move it back to the living room (which is the most sensible position) it quickly loses the connection again. Has anyone else experienced this situation and found a solution?

This can be an issue if you have any electronic gadgets that are new, or DECT phones. Look to see if anything has been updated or new appliances, or microwaves in the way. Anything that is a new item, isolate and see if that helps.

Thanks - there have been no changes at all - just this sudden break in connecting fromn where it has been sitting for years

OK, as mentioned usually interference is a problem for lost connections. I assume no mobile phone updates either, or mesh wifi, router, repeaters or anything like that? Sounds silly, but the oddest of things can give hassle.

Thanks for reaching out to us here @Bangorman . I am sorry to hear you're facing connectivity difficulties with your Heat Link. I would be happy to try and assist.
Like @Frustratedddd mentioned, this kind of behaviour is generally linked to interference from some sources. This can be from many sources from appliances and electronics to new objects like mirrors.
It can even be from neighbouring devices, especially in apartments, where interference from neighbouring routers can happen.
The best option would be to find a new location for the display that is still convenient for you or perhaps even have the Heat Link moved a bit, if it's close to the boiler, metal pipes and cables, to avoid any interference from that.

Hi, I wanted to check in. How's it going with your thermostat?

I have left it in the kitchen for the time being which is not ideal - I would prefer it to be back in the living room but none of the things suggested in these responses apply to it so I have no idea why it has started misbehaving in the living room.

Understood. Leave it there for a while and see how it behaves. If it seems to have a stable connection, try moving it to different locations around and see if you can find one that would be more fitting while it still is able to hold the connection.
However it does sound like there is some source of interference causing the thermostat to disconnect.
