Hi All,
I fitted my Nest 3rd Gen thermostat about a year ago and all seems good.
One thing I would like to know is should the hot water (water tank) scheduling still work if internet access is unavailable?
So a few weeks back I woke up to find the internet connection is off as the provider had a technical issue in the area. My wifi network was still working (but no internet) as I have the providers router in modem mode, and my own router controlling the network. Then I found I had no hot water as the normal scheduled hot water timings hadn't happened. So I resorted to manually turning on the hot water on the Nest thermostat, which worked but needed a good hour to heat a cold water tank.
Is there a setting that the schedules still run as programmed in the absence of internet?
Thanks

Hey Gonch1980,
Glad to be of help. The device is set up to function properly when losing internet connection to ensure your home is still heated/cooled. This includes heating water, and I am sorry you ran into an issue. If you notice this happens again, double-check your heating schedule, to ensure everything is working properly. Let me know if you have any other questions from here as well.
Best regards,
Jake

Ok thanks.
Maybe it was down to using home/away assist, that doesn't always seem correct
