Hi, would like to ask if Nest 3rd Gen + Nest temperature sensor, both purchased in US will work fine in Europe? Should I rather avoid any firmware update or is it ok? As officially this combination is supported in Canada and US only…

In theory, it should work but you might need to fudge on the installation location.

Hi Mysak75,
I just wanted to jump in real fast to see if you saw Patrick_Caezza's reply and to see if you still needed some help on this or if you were able to get it sorted out. If you are still needing some help, just let us know and we'll be happy to continue helping. To add to this, however, we never really know how devices will behave outside of their home regions. Sometimes they'll perform with little or no problems, other times they can be totally inoperable or severely compromised. If there's an option to buy within the region, that's always the best and recommended course of action.
Thanks,
Jeff

Thank you Jeff, I guess the Patrick´s answer helped. The question is, if it will work like that also in reality. I just got the sensors, thermostat is on it´s way. As it is not the cheapest toy on market, I´d like to prevent any mistake leading to disfunction of the thermostat. Actually I trust it will work after unboxing without any troubles....Question is what will happen after some time once some firmware update will be available. I have no idea, if the software carries with it also some geographical info and may for example cause partial or total malfunction. I guess this should be well known to the google people at Nest. Afraid, there's no option to buy these within the region.
