Nest 3rd Gen Thermostat is permanently OFFLINE

Davehoughton

I have 2 separate 3rd gen thermostats controlling 2 separate boilers in different areas within the same building. Both have been working fine without any issues for 3 months. 3 days ago one of the thermostats went OFFLINE and will not reconnect to the WiFi. I have tested the WiFi and internet connection with my phone alongside the thermostat and it connects instantly to the internet with good signal strength.

I have reset the Thermostat and tried to reconnect but it cannot see any network, it just spins and says searching. I have also tried manually entering the network name and password but it times out and displays the cannot connect message. I have rebooted the router several times and everything else comes back online ok.

The connection to the Heat link is still working as is the schedule and the boiler is working fine. I just cant access it remotely to monitor or change the scheduled times.

Is there anything else I can try or maybe a hard factory rest ?

The second system is still working fine on the same network and I can still access it on my phone app remotely.

Thanks

Dave

Hey Davehoughton,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries, we'll check this out. Does the thermostat display show any messages? Do you only have one Wi-Fi network, or are there others? If yes, do any of them end in _ext? Also, what is the power reading of your Nest Thermostat? You can find this information by going to Settings > Technical Info > Power.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Archie
