Trying to connect a second phone to my Nest (3rd Gen) Thermostat. I tried using the Nest app on my iPhone but it keeps telling me I have to download the Google Home app. Is that true or am I missing something ? Also, if I do need to use the Google Home app, will it take info directly from the Nest app or do I need to do all the configuration again manually on the Google Home app (i.e. create a home, add the thermostat, etc.). Will the second phone (Android) need to also download the Google Home app? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much.

Second phone can only be connected via Google home as you can only have 1 account registered with Nest but can add family members in the home app. However, be warned once you've registered with Google Home you're forever tied to Google, rather than just Nest. Also, lots of us are having major issues with this setup. Check out this thread at here, https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Thermostats/Home-Away-Assist-returning-home-always-stuck...
