I'm having this same exact issue. Probably for the past 2-3 months. The more I try to resolve, the more frustrated I get. Of course when I'm going to bed the screen flashes that it's automatically re-connecting to Wi-Fi. This time around it's been disconnected for 2 days. Last time I called for help was just a waste of time. They need a break fix to resolve this ASAP.

Hi folks,

Thanks for posting in the community! Sorry to hear about this situation with your Nest Thermostat not showing up your WiFi network. No worries, help is here! I'd like to ask you a few questions to gather more information:

  1. What Nest thermostat model do you have?
  2. Does the thermostat display show any error codes or messages?
  3. Can your other devices find your Wi-Fi network name (SSID)?
  4. Are you trying to connect to the 2.4 GHz or the 5 GHz network?

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Axel.

1 Nest Gen-3 Learning Thermostat

2 Offline, or it's scanning trying to find our Wi-Fi. I've confirmed it's checking for correct wifi name. I'll even retype it in and it can't be found

3 All other devices are connected w/no problems. I've restarted WiFi and also a refresh, neither helped.

4. GHz for what?

This problem started about 2-3 months ago. From the time Nest was installed in January until 2-3 months ago, this NEVER was a problem. Was there a system update 2-3 months ago that's causing this?

Thanks

Hi Lisajd63,

Thanks for replying! I appreciate all the information provided, that helps me to get the right steps to try fixing it. No worries, let's try some troubleshooting steps:

  1. Try to connect your Nest Thermostat to a Mobile Hotspot.
  2. Perform a Factory Reset.

Please check if your Nest Thermostat is showing you the W5 error, If it is, let me know.

Keep me posted.
