Nest 4th Gen does not work with Nest App?

Hey Google,

I just installed my new nest learning thermostat generation 4 that replaced my generation 3.

After siding it up in the Google Home app, I went to set it up in the nest app, and it appears that it is no longer compatible with that app.

am I correct on this issue?

If so, will the nest app be compatible with the new GEN 4 soon

Thanks for reaching out to our Nest Community. Apologize for all inconvenience with the Nest App and the Nest Thermostat. Don´t worry, I'm happy to help you with that.

 

Your confirmation is right. The 4th Gen is not compatible with the Nest App. This is because the Google Home app offers you more features available with this Thermostat version.

Maybe if the home app was a better experience I would move on.  Just replaced an E thermostst with the 4th gen learning one.  Did it specifically so I could monitor it from the nest app.  Last Nest I buy.  Will start the cycle of replacing my six Nests with ecobee.
