Nest Data Structure and Definitions

Google support was absolutely no help with this issue, so resorting to posting here. In order to analyze data from the Nest, I need to know the data structure that Google uses, since the majority of data headers aren't intuitively defined. For example, there is a data header max(pir) but there doesn't seem to be any documentation that defines the data headers. I'm pretty frustrated that this isn't readily available documentation, considering that 80% of the data is unusable without knowing the data structure and definitions.

Does anyone have this information or know where to go to get it?

Hello tabitha_artuso,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community!

I completely understand your situation with the lack of readily available documentation for the Nest data structure. Analyzing data from the Nest can indeed be challenging without proper documentation on data headers.

While we may not have the specific information you're looking for, there are a few alternative approaches you can consider:

  • Explore the Smart Home Developer Forum here in the community. Developers often have access to more detailed information about data structures and headers.
  • Visit the Google Device Access page.
  • Go to Google Takeout and make sure to sign in with your Nest credentials.

Best regards,
Mark
