Nest E Thermostat not heating up radiators

littlemiss

We just installed a Nest E Thermostat, the thermostat and heat link says it is connected (pulsing green light) and I ran tests and said everything was fine but when we set the thermostat to turn on the radiators are not heating up. We have hot water though. I updated the thermostat software too! We double checked that the wires aren't loose and secured properly, nothing seems amiss

Hello Eduardo!

Thanks for taking the time to reply. We managed to sort out the problem, it was a faulty Nest Heat Link! We bought a second unit and installed that in the same order as the fist and it worked without a hitch.

Hi @littlemiss,

Thank you very much for contacting this community! I understand that you have correctly installed the Nest Thermostat E and the Heat Link, which has green indicator lights. After some configurations, the thermostat is not heating, but the hot water is working. I appreciate you taking the time to check the wires and update the thermostat's software. I am here to help you!

I would like to ask you a few questions so I can proceed with the troubleshooting steps:

  • What's the display colour? Red is calling for heat, while black is in standby mode.
  • Is there a wiring report or error message on your thermostat or app?
  • Have you had any recent power cuts in your area?
  • When was the last maintenance of your system?

In the meantime, I would like to provide you with some troubleshooting steps that might help:

  • Check if the boiler activates.
    • For NTE: Press the Heat Link’s button twice to turn off manual mode.
  • Check if the Heat Link can activate the boiler in manual mode.
    • For NTE: Press the Heat Link’s button twice to activate manual mode.

Please feel free to share any additional details you think might be relevant.

Best regards,
Eduardo
