The nest E seems to keep the reversing valve on my heat pump energized all the time (except in heat mode), even when the unit kicks off.
It has burned up the reversing solenoid in my unit.
Can it be reprogrammed to not do that ?

My system has been repaired and is working. However, I still wonder if holding the reversing valve on / energized all the time, even with the system not running, will damage the valve. The valve is only de-energized when the system switches to heat.
Thanks, Dennis

Hi ingramdj,
Thanks for the reply.
It's great to hear that your system has been checked and repaired. The valve will only engaged when your system is switching from heating to cooling. It is recommended to have your OB settings checked by a technician and this link will further help us.

Ryan
