Nest E thermostat not showing history in nest app

Stoobs

Ever since my nest thermostat went through an update in September, I have been unable to see any usage history on the Nest app, or Google home app. The history is there in the thermostat itself, but won't communicate and transfer it with the app. I have performed the usual, hard reset, uninstall/reinstall app but nothing coming through. Any help appreciated.

Hi @Stoobs,

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Thermostat E is not syncing its history with the Nest app. I'm happy to help!

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • Did you get an error message?
  • How did you perform the hard reset?

In the meantime, let's check a few things:

  • Check Network Connection: Ensure your Thermostat and your phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Try another device: If possible, connect your Thermostat to a different mobile device. This can solve some glitches.
  • Device updated: Make sure you're using the latest version of the Nest App and Nest Thermostat.
  • Reset: As you mentioned, a hard reset was already done. You may need to reset your Thermostat. This will erase all settings and data. Refer to this article: Reset your Nest Thermostat. Please follow the instructions for Account connection.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Melany

Nope, still not working. Did a full reset back to factory settings, then a full reinstall onto my account. Still not showing on the app. There is no error message, it just shows as "no usage" I tried to do a check for update system after the reset and it didn't even find the updated version from the beginning of September.

Hi there!

Thanks for the follow-up information.

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a question:

  • Are you using an iOS or Android mobile device?

Please try the steps here:

  • Test if the issue persists on both Wi-Fi and cellular data, if available.
  • If it's not working yet, uninstall the app, restart your mobile device, install the app, and try to pair the device again.
  • If after that the inconvenience still persists, try to add the thermostat using a different device.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Melany
