Nest Eco settings wont go below 76 F as a minimum temp

2 basic devices in my home.

The device itself does not seem to have a menu choice under settings for temp preferences.

The app lets me change everything except this one setting, I can increase it above 76, just not lower.

Comfort and Sleep I can adjust full scale, not eco.

All presence settings are set to off.

wtf and thank you from Boston

Because having your A/C set cooler than 76 is not economical or eco-friendly.

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. @NormalOne, I am sorry that you are having issues with the Eco mode in your Nest Thermostat. But no need to worry, help is here.

Before we get started with further troubleshooting, let me ask you some important questions:

  1. What Nest Thermostat model do you have?
  2. Does the thermostat display show any error codes or messages?
  3. Are you able to share a picture of your wiring?
  4. Have you followed any troubleshooting already? (other than trying to reset your device),
  5. What type of system do you have? (Heat Pump or conventional type)

In the meantime, here are some basic steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Thermostat Settings:

  • Ensure your thermostat is set to the correct mode (heat or cool).
  • Check the Eco mode and settings for your device.
  • Check for any advanced settings or schedules that might be causing conflicts. You can check the following guide to Troubleshoot strange heating or cooling behavior.
  • I understand that you have already restarted the thermostat: You can also check the following article to Restart or reset a Nest thermostat depending on your device’s model and make sure the correct process is followed.
  • Check that your system doesn't need maintenance.

In case it helps, you can also review these articles to Learn about Eco Temperatures, Auto Eco and how to change settings and to Set your Nest thermostat to heating, Eco, or off based on the model of your device. Note: If you're not comfortable working with electrical wiring, consult a qualified technician (Nest pro).

Please keep me posted.

Best,

Mario
