Good morning. I have a gen2 learning thermostat. The idiot HVAC guy replaced my control unit with a two wire model that does not feature a C-wire port. He saw my Nest thermostat but I guess doesn't know about the need for power. Anyway, I am considering purchasing a plug- in standalone 24-volt adapter to provide "c wire" power. What amperage does the Nest Gen 2 unit need to power up? It is cheaper for me to buy the Google C-wire adapter than replace the control unit.
