Nest Gen3 6.2-27 WiFi keeps disconnecting

I have two nest thermostats.  Both loose connection to WIFI shortly after restart.  They will show connected, allow setting a temperature, and then go offline.  They do not  display an error code.  I have moved them to an SSID with no other clients.  I can ping the IP address for a few seconds after restart.  Seconds later ping fails until the next restart.  New Access Point, Working Router on Starlink.

Hi MJ15,

Thanks for posting in the community forum. I understand you may be encountering a situation with your Nest thermostat that repeatedly disconnects from WiFi. No worries, check out this article: The Nest thermostat is offline. It contains all the steps you need to perform to get your device back on track.

Following these steps and exploring the resources, you will be able to diagnose and resolve the Wi-Fi disconnection.

Let me know how it goes,

Daniel.

This is NOT RESOLVED.  Followed troubleshooting.  No change here's  a screen shot of the status.  Internet is working for other applications.  Other devices on the same WIFI access point are working.  Access Point and Router have been rebooted. Battery is 4.16v.  Moved my hand near the thermostat - it came on.  screen shot of new status.

Seems like it just goes to sleep.

HI MJ15,

Thank you so much for keeping me updated.

Since you've already taken the previous troubleshooting steps, I have another recommendation for you.

  • Use a mobile hotspot: try to connect your thermostat using a mobile hotspot. If the thermostat connects to the hotspot without any issues, the Wi-Fi network settings most likely cause the thermostat not to detect the network. Make sure that you use the recommended Wi-Fi settings

Regards,

Daniel.
