Nest Thermostat only runs cooling for approx 2 minutes then shuts off for 3 minutes

My upstairs nest thermostat is only running the AC for 1 to 2 minutes and then cycles the system off for 2 to 3 minutes.  The thermostat ran fine all winter, but as soon as we started using the AC again is when this issue began.  My downstairs thermostat runs just fine.  The AC unit itself checks out fine, and the setting on the upstairs thermostat are the exact same as the downstairs thermostat. 

 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ericrb3288,

I'm sorry to hear about this situation you're having with the cooling on your Nest Thermostat. No worries, help's here!  To help me understand the issue better, I'd like to ask you a few questions:
 

  • Could you send me a photo of the wiring?
  • Are both thermostats wired the same way?
  • Have you tried swapping the thermostat displays between the two units?
