100% agree with you. If they want leave it unsupported fine, but why take away the functionality? Does not make sense, especially from a consumer loyalty point of view. When the time comes, which will now be soon, I'm changing mine to another brand.

I agree, I have spoke to a lot of HVAC people, and they ALL Agree their are MANY Smart thermostats out there that are MUCH Less and do the functions we need.
Yes NEST WAS cutting edge, but since Google has owned them, they have become OVER Priced.
Why pay that exorbitant price for something that will probably be UN-supported in the near future, with functions that are UN-needed?

I totally agree also. I am beyond irritated and angry. Although said previously, I want to emphasize how lousy it is to lose functionality! I'm fine with old devices not being supported but for its Smart capabilities to be removed renders it useless. I will not ever buy a Nest device again knowing of it's temporary usage. Grrrr!!!

This is planned obsolescence at its most egregious. My thermostat works perfectly. At least make the app backwards compatible, but requiring me to pay $150 to replaces the device, which has always been branded as a smart device is ridiculous.
