Nest Learning Thermostat Gen 2- Dial not turning/stuck screen

Nester8

Been dealing with this issue for 3 weeks and had reset it; charged it and nothing seems to work regarding the dial acativation. Finally, it is stuck and I am constantly turning the dial to move the thermostat to change the degree or screen. It's stuck at 58 degrees and I need heat!

Hello Nester8,

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with this. Let's see why your thermostat won't allow you to adjust the temperature.

Can you still navigate it by going to settings after resetting it? Did you add it to the Nest app and can you adjust the temperature? Also, going over these steps might help:

  1. Remove the display from the base.
  2. Ensure that all wires are properly connected and the tabs are pushed down.
  3. Put the display back on its base and make sure it'll click into place.
  4. Press and hold the screen for 10 seconds until it shuts down to restart.
  5. Try adjusting the dial again to control it.

Please let us know how it goes.

Best regards,

Mark

Hey there,

I'm checking back in. Were you able to do the steps above? I'd be glad to hear from you; I'd like to make sure everything is working.

Thanks,

Mark

Worked only 2 times after restart. Then after the thermostat gets stuck. Problem is still persisting.
