I have been reading a lot of forums. It seems like many people are having similar issues and I feel like I have tried everything I read. I have factory reset my thermostat and removed it from the app. I have tried setting it back up and I am either unable to connect to my WiFi or I cannot connect to NEST services to set up the app. I can work the thermostat from the wall if I am home, but I want to be able to control it from my app. I really am at the point of giving up though.
If I try the set up from the wall with the QR code I can't connect to my WiFi. If I try the set up from the APP with the entry code it uses my NEST protect hardware to setup the Thermostat, but then I get an error that it cannot connect to NEST services. It is very frustrating!

Same issue. My setup looked like it was completing and now I cannot go back through the setup process and see no thermostat in google home. I have tried resetting by removing the batteries with no luck. Also tried to setup under a new Ho w with the same error message in the Google home setup process.

How do I factory reset when the thermometer has never been completely setup?

Hello folks,
I'm sorry to hear you're both having an issue reconnecting your Nest Thermostat to the app. I'd be happy to shed some light on the situation here!
If your Nest Thermostat’s battery level is low, it will disconnect from Wi-Fi. This is to conserve power so it can continue controlling your system. To check, go to Settings > Technical Info > Power. The battery level must be at 3.8 V for the Nest Learning Thermostat. For the Nest Thermostat 2020 model, go to Settings > Equipment > Power Info. If you are wanting to reset the device, I would recommend following these steps below:
Nest Learning Thermostat:
Nest Thermostat 2020:
Let me know if that helps.

I got mine to connect after removing batteries for several minutes.

Hi Sloper,
Sounds great! I'm glad to hear that a restart by removing the batteries helped you reconnect to your Wi-Fi network. Let me know if you need anything else from me, but you are free to create a new post for any future questions or concerns; we're here to help.
Best,
