Nest Learning Thermostat

I wanted to buy a hive because I’d had one in my old house, but my partner decided to go with the nest! It was complicated to set up, no point in half the things it can do….it knows when you’re not home so will turn off….I know when I’m not home???!! So I can turn it off🤦🏻‍ ♀️ The heat link gave up the ghost after 15 months, which ironically when I googled this, it was a common theme! We eventually received a replacement as it was still under warranty but we were politely warned in an e-mail we must return the broken one and if it’s not broken they will charge us for the replacement! That’s hilarious because their ‘intelligent’ thermostat didn’t want to be friends with the heat link anymore so I’m blaming him! Now the replacement heat link won’t connect to the ‘intelligent’ thermostat (not quite so clever now is it!) We’re giving up now…..but be sure to tune in to the next enthralling episode of ‘unintelligent nest thermostat’

Hey @Teenz,

Thanks for reaching out. I'll do my best to get this resolved for you. Let's try these steps:

1. Bring the display and base closer to the Heat Link and make sure the boiler is not in between the Heat Link and thermostat - only if possible.
2. Turn off the router and other WiFi or Bluetooth devices ( router, speakers, cordless phones, baby monitor, etc. ).
3. Select Replace Heat Link.
4. Enter the entry key ( do not confirm it yet ) — you can find it at the bottom side of the Heat Link, near the screw.
5. Restart the Heat Link twice by pressing on the Nest button for 30 seconds each time.
6. Confirm entry key.

Let me know how it goes.
