Nest Learning

When I leave for vacation the Nest goes to Eco mode and it gets real hot inside the house (live in a hot weather area). I need the temperature to not get too hot inside due to the high humidity. How or how do I set the Nest to turn on like at 83 degrees etc?

Hi,

You can use the Nest app or website to set a temperature range for your Nest thermostat while you're away on vacation. Here's how:

  1. Open the Nest app or website and select your thermostat.

  2. Tap or click on the gear icon in the top right corner to access the Settings menu.

  3. Under "Home/Away Assist," select "Away."

  4. Select "Add" to create a new Away mode temperature range.

  5. Set the temperature range you'd like your Nest thermostat to maintain while you're away. For example, you could set the minimum temperature to 75 degrees and the maximum temperature to 83 degrees.

  6. Save your changes and exit the Settings menu.

When you leave for vacation, make sure to set your Nest thermostat to Away mode. Your thermostat will then use the temperature range you set to keep your home from getting too hot or too cold while you're away.

Note that it may take a few hours for your Nest thermostat to reach the desired temperature range after you set it. It's also a good idea to check the temperature in your home periodically while you're away to make sure your Nest thermostat is working properly.

Thanks!

Hello folks,

I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here.

Thanks for the input, @mdshoaibkhan. Big help!

@beachbum62, Home and Away Assist is enabled by default. You can adjust the Eco Temperatures as mentioned above. and you'll find more of it in this article. Feel free to let us know if you have more questions.
