Nest Power Connector on a US Boiler X-2

I am trying to connect a Nest Thermostat (not the E and not the Learning) to a Modine heater in my garage. I only have a red wire and a white wire currently and I know I need a C wire to make this work. Nest sent me the Nest Power Connector however I am having trouble figuring out how to connect it. Nest claims it should work with my system but my HVAC guy (not a Nest pro and only chatting via text) is not sure it will work.

I have a US Boiler X-2 and my zones are controlled by zone valves (as opposed to a zone controller. Does anyone know where I would connect the Nest Power Connector to this system?

Any information would be much appreciated. Thank you.

For anyone who stumbles on this post, I figured it out by following the instructions in this video:

Hello Yanks332,

Thanks for reaching out. I appreciate you posting and updating us on your efforts to address your concern and find a fix. But I wanted to ensure you are good to go. Have you had a chance to install your new Nest Power Connector? Did the video help? Also, make sure that your thermostat's software is up-to-date before installing it so it can detect it.

If there’s anything else I can help you with, please let me know.

Regards,

Mark

Hi Mark,

I got the Nest Power Connector installed using the video I posted. I also updated the software.

Thank you

Marc

Hi Yanks332,

Sounds great! I'm glad to hear you've successfully installed it. I'll bet other users would be able to use it as a reference. It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will lock the thread within 24 hours unless I can help out with anything else.

Best,

Mark
