Have code n260 says I need the free Nest Power Connector or C wire.  Where, how do I get that?

Hi - You can get the (not free) Nest Power Connector here:
https://store.google.com/product/nest_power_connector?hl=en-US

or if your thermostat/furnace wire bundle has it and is connected to the 'C' terminal on your furnace control board - a C wire to connect to the 'C' terminal on the Nest thermostat baseplate. Typically, this C wire is blue and is 18AWG (same as doorbell wiring for chime/smart doorbell etc) and carries 24 V back to the Nest.

Hello everyone,

I'm dropping by to see how I can help.

I appreciate your input, @jb76.

@h2oskier100, thanks for reaching out here in the Google Nest Community. It seems like you're looking for information on obtaining a free Nest Power Connector or C wire. To help you with that, I'll need a bit more context.

The Nest Power Connector is typically used to provide constant power to your Nest thermostat. To confirm:

  • Is this a first time installation?
  • Where did you receive a prompt for a free Nest Power Connector?
  • Can you post a picture of your old thermostat and Nest Thermostat's wiring setup?

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,
Mark
