Hi,
Last year we got a junkers external boiler installed. The tf25 thermostat is pretty much garbage. The technician told us, replacing it with nest is virtually impossible as the thermostat is literally the brain of the boiler as the boiler itself has no internal controls. All is managed by that small tf25. I still won’t give up as the thermostat is terrible and location of it does not help with regulation of rooms at all. Has anyone experience with that thermostat and found a way to replace or at least combine it with a nest?

Hi Nolafs,
Thanks for posting here in the Community forum and for showing interest in our Nest Thermostats. While I can understand your frustration, it's important to note that modifying or replacing a thermostat in a way that goes against the manufacturer's recommendations can be risky and may void any warranties or support for your equipment. That being said, I can provide some general information that might help you explore your options.
In some cases, it may be possible to integrate a Nest Thermostat with certain boiler systems, but it depends on the specific model and compatibility. Nest Thermostats are designed to work with a wide range of heating and cooling systems, but they may not be compatible with every boiler or heating system on the market. To determine if your Junkers boiler can be integrated with a Nest Thermostat, please send us a photo of your current thermostat wiring configuration so we can take a closer look. You may use our Compatibility Checker to help you determine if a Nest thermostat is compatible with your heating and cooling system. You may also check out our Nest Thermostat compatibility article to learn more.
Remember, it's important to prioritize safety and ensure that any modifications or installations are done by qualified professionals to avoid any potential damage or hazards.
Keep us posted. We're happy to help.
Best,
Zoe

Hi,
I did check with compatibly checker before my purchase. I even booked an authorised suppler to install it but he told it wasn't possible. Please have look at the shared photos of manual and thermostat.

Hi there,
Thanks for getting back to us. Could you also include a photo of your current thermostat wiring configuration so I can check on it clearly?

I added few more pictures. I open up the thermostat. There used to the old thermostat from the previous boiler, power supply should be available.

Hello Nolafs,
It's me again, and I'm sorry for the late reply. You have stranded thermostat wires, which are not recommended for Nest Thermostats. If you wish to still go with Nest Thermostats, I recommend you get installation help or HVAC service from a professional to change your stranded thermostat wires to a solid copper wire.
Thanks,
Zoe
