Nest Power Connector

Bruiser
Community Member

Hi

As per a previous post of mine, my 3rd Gen thermostat keeping loosing charge and I have no C wire.

I installed a nest power connector and all seems to be fine as far as HVAC is still working but the Nest is still running out of charge.

There is nothing in the app saying "you need a C wire" and as it's a 3rd gen there is no option for power check in the app.

In the device, under Equipment, there is no option for Power Connector or power check.

I did a multi meter check before and after and nothing seemed to change. I've also double checked the wiring...

Any help or advice?

Hello Bruiser,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

Please make sure that your thermostat's software is up-to-date. If so, gather the power readings in the Technical Info settings. Also, please share with us a photo of how you installed your Nest power connector. This is to check on how it was labeled.

Regards,
Mark

Update - had the wiring inspected by HVAC engineer during routine servicing and all is good.

So I will return the Nest Power Connector as defective.

Latest power readings:

Battery 3.831V

Voc 37.22V

Vin 35.39V

Iin 40mA

Does this mean that it's getting power?

Hi Bruiser,

I'm sorry to hear that the Nest Temperature Sensor didn't work. I see normal power readings your thermostat is getting from your system. How's it going so far? Are you experiencing any power issues?

Regards,
Mark

Hey there,

I don't want to be a nudge, but I'd like to check if you were able to get your thermostat working. Feel free to reach back if you still need help.

Mark
