Nest Takeout Data structure documentation?

Anyone know if there's any documentation on the Nest Takeout data structure?

I downloaded my data a couple of weeks back and spent a pleasant few days unpicking it. There was a lot of data,  hundreds of variables and no apparent docs.

A fair amount of the structure was either self-explanatory or at least deduceable (is that a word?, anyway). Lots (and I mean lots!) of the data remains opaque though for example :

what is the useful-sounding "totalHeatingSeconds" variable? Under what circumstances is it populated?

Where is the data that indicates a user has manually changed the temperature?

How is the motion-sensor or ambient-light data to be interpreted?

Why are there very obvious gaps in the data? (around 25% of my days claimed no heating in the download, when it's clear there actually was)?

Quite a bit of derived (i.e. post-processed in a server somewhere) data is included - how is that derived and to be interpreted? - especially as a significant fraction (6% in my case) was clearly incorrect.

Come on Google/Nest - data without useful metadata and documentation is barely worth the name.
