Nest Temperature Sensor (4th Gen) does not update temperature

I purchased a Nest 4th Gen thermostat along with the Nest Temperature Sensor, but the sensor hasn’t updated its reading since I installed it. I paired it with my thermostat through the Google Home app, and it initially registered 73°F. I then placed it in the basement, but even after 6 hours, it still showed 73°F, while a separate thermometer in the basement read 69°F.

I tried troubleshooting by removing the battery, deleting the sensor from the app, and restarting my thermostat. After re-adding the sensor, the temperature changed from 73°F to 71°F, but it hasn’t updated since. The app is now stuck at 71°F and no longer changes.

My thermostat is running the most current software update.
