Hi! So I'm having the same problem has discussed here - https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Thermostats/Nest-temp-sensor-is-associated-with-another-...
but the solution doesn't work for me.
- I lost access to my Nest Account because my phone number was changed and I suddenly needed it to log in.
-I created a new Nest Account via a Google migration login and reset the thermostat. Works fine.
-But I've been unable to connect the temperature sensor to the new account.
- I can't access my old Nest account because I don't have access to that phone number anymore which it is required of me to log in.
- I've left the batteries out of the temp sensor for hours, plugged them back in, waited for days, and still every time I go to add the sensor as a new product, I still get the 'Nest Temperature Sensor is Associated with Another Account' message.
-The same problem has been brought up multiple times on this forum but without a workable solution:
I mean there has to be a way to do this, right???

I have the same issue. Changed emails (can no longer connect with the old email) and had to go through the same process (Factory reset) to get my Gen 3 Learning Thermostat re-established under my new email account. However, the temperature sensor has the exact same issue in that, taking out the battery overnite does NOT reset it. Any help would be appreciated!

I have the same issue and I’ve posted to the help forum as well with no response. I’m hoping someone will have a workable solution at some point.

I finally got mine to add back to my account. I took the battery out and left it out for about 3 days. Reinserted and was able to set it back up. Just note you do have to wait DAYS. I tried it after 24 hours and got nothing. I was going to give up and kind of forgot about it, which is why I went back to it on day 3.

I have the same issue. I have been trying for days to get it fixed. I wish there was a live person available to help. Still have the same issue. I guess it will never be fixed.

Try taking the battery out and leaving it for several days. For me 3 days was the magic number. Might need longer though.

Hello there,
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd love to help.
I appreciate you letting us know what you've done to have your issue resolved, @Lnk44.
@KRS1, Could you also try the suggested steps taken by Lnk44? It appears that disconnecting it for a long period of time might do the trick to reset it completely. Also, try leaving it disconnected for a couple of hours and then trying to add it back again.
Please keep us posted on how it goes.
Regards,
Mark
