Furnace Fan stops working

benjn

I recently installed Nest snow with a natural gas powered Rheem forced air furnace. Recently I have had a couple situations where the furnace will start up fine and blow hot air. However after a few minutes the air will stop blowing from the vents although the furnace continues to run.

Each time this happens I have been turning off the system through the app and turning on again a few minutes later. When I do this it starts working again (furnace turns on and hot air comes out). It has happened about 2-3 times in the last week.

I am not sure if this is an issue with nest or a blower/control board issue. Any ideas?

Sounds more like a furnace issue.

If it happens again do not do anything with the Nest and go to the furnace when the blower shuts off, look at the control board inside the unit sometimes there is a little round window to look inside. You need to look for LED digital codes being displayed or some just have a red led that flashes fault codes, Count the number of flashes then if you remove the cover on a decal it shows a chart of the fault codes and what they mean.

The door has a switch so it wont run the furnace with it removed unless you put a clamp or clip on the switch to keep it depressed.
