Hi my nest stopped turning on the Cooling system. It has been installed for 2 years with no issues. Then 2 days ago it said Y1 not detected. It was set up using the G, Y, W, R wires. I checked the contactor at the outside unit and it worked. I checked the the Y1 wire and reseated it. still nothing. I checked the battery level and it was reading 3.8 volts. The nest was indicating the actual temperature and the set temperature and said 2+ hours. But the the outside unit would not turn on. I even connected the blue C wire and still it did not turn on. Checked for any updates, it was up to date. Held it down to reset it, nothing. Factory reset it, still nothing. At this point I have already installed a Honeywell thermostat and the HVAC system is working normally. But I love my Nest and just want to know if it is the actual Nest that is messed up and not registering the Y1 wire, or if there was anything else I can do.

I'm in the same situation. I noticed the temperature in the house was way too high, so naturally I checked the thermostat settings and it said it was on cool but was blowing out hot air.

Hey folks,
I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries, we'll check this out. What's the exact message are you getting? Could you tell us the make and model of your HVAC system? Do you have a heat pump system? Do you have a conventional split system? Also, what country are you located in?
Looking forward to your response.
Thanks,
Archie
